It is not easy to be a great classroom teacher; teaching is a very demanding job. To articulate the nature of good/great classroom teaching, I have ranked, in order of importance, the following four qualities of good teaching with analogous professional roles in parentheses:

1) Supervisor/Drill Sergeant: Effective educators need to maintain control over their classes. For children to behave properly toward the teacher and each other, the classroom needs to be a safe space. Good teachers must instill discipline in their students. To be clear, I am using the word “discipline” as a noun here rather than a verb. Almost every teacher who enters the profession will tell you that managing the classroom is the greatest challenge that new teachers face, for which they are almost always inadequately prepared in their teacher preparation programs or training. Without control of a classroom, the rest of the qualities of a good teacher are irrelevant and generally non-existent.
2) Coach/Salesperson/Counselor Motivation/Inspiration: A competent educator must inspire and persuade their pupils that the difficulties involved in learning are worthwhile. Effective teachers increase student involvement, even though high-quality curricula might boost motivation (see Instruction below). A successful teacher must know and understand each of their students as individuals, not simply as learners, in order to inspire and drive them. They need to be aware of the issues that their students are dealing with because these issues frequently impede their ability to study. Teachers need to make an effort to build a relationship with their pupils that is both personal and professional, built on respect, trust, and high standards. Teachers must encourage and support students’ innate curiosity in order to help them meet important learning goals, even though children and young adults are naturally interested. Lastly, excellent educators involve each student in the
Effective teachers in any subject prioritize these skills so that each student can play to their individual strengths and use planned and directed instruction to help their students develop these and many more.
I) Critical Thinking
2) Interaction
III) Feeling sympathy
Section IV: Structure
V) Ascertainment
By using instructional strategies that put the students at the center of their own learning, excellent teachers help every one of their students develop each of these abilities
4) Quality Controller, Analyst, and Assessor Evaluation: These three questions should be able to be answered by any qualified teacher: What is being told to do? What is the purpose of its instruction? How are you going to know if the students have grasped it? In the evaluation process, the last question is very important.
Proficient instructors possess the ability to articulate the objectives of every lesson, assignment, and query presented to the group. Competent teachers consider their students’ results by collecting and analyzing data to assess student performance. Skilled teachers set clear goals for their students’ education and use targeted assessments to track their progress toward these goals. Outstanding educators never give up until their students have achieved these goals. When students inquire about the purpose of a subject, effective teachers are ready to address their inquiries. Great teachers are ready with an answer and happy to provide it when students ask.
Not all teachers, good or bad, have the “opportunity” to develop or showcase the first two essential components of teaching: control and motivation. This is because some classroom cultures are intrinsically positive and reflect a motivated student body or an already productive school environment.
But whether they are good or bad, some teachers have an extremely difficult time maintaining a disciplined, happy classroom in the middle of a school community where low motivation among the student body and a pervasive negative culture exist. In this environment, exceptional teachers have the “opportunity” to shine.
In general, teaching standards differ greatly between schools and individual classrooms. Great teachers work extremely hard and should be treated like rock stars because they have a huge impact on both society and their students.
